We are currently looking for male/female competitive eaters for our upcoming Japanese eating competition TV show!
BACKGROUND
Televised eating contests have a long history in Japan from the early ’90s. Currently, eating contests have very strict rules that require that the restaurants and vendors who provide the food for the contests be portrayed positively, that their food is given beautiful treatment, and contestants may not eat the food in a way that the viewer feels disgusted or unsafe.
The contest will be between four teams: Canada, USA, Japan, and some undecided country. We are looking for Canadian eaters for our Canada team.
LOCATION
For our 2017 episode, we are looking to shoot in both Vancouver, and Dallas, TX, USA. Our qualifying round will be shot in Vancouver, then if you make it onto the Canada team, we will have you travel to Dallas for five days. YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE BOTH SETS OF DATES!
DATES
Canada qualifier: 9/6-9/10 (1-2 days)
Texas shoot: 10/29-11/22 sometime (for five days). We should have a better idea of these dates by next week. Please let us know if you have any conflicts for now!!
Again, you must be available for the Texas shoot dates if you are coming to the qualifier.
QUALIFICATIONS
-Must be available for both sets of dates.
-Must be able to travel legally to the US (you will be asked for a copy of your passport prior to entering the qualifier round).
-Must have no serious criminal record that would deny you access to the US.
-Must not have an exclusive contract with IFOCE/MLE.
COMPENSATION
All travel costs, accommodation, and meals will be covered during the Texas shoot dates.
You will receive $200/flat for the qualifier round (1-2 shoot days) , and $500/flat for the competition (five days in Texas). If Canada wins the competition, you will receive an addt’l $500 per team member.
Please send a recent photo of yourself, a short introduction on your eating accomplishments (videos are greatly appreciated), and a confirmation of the qualifications seen above (you do NOT need to send in your passport photo until you are chosen).
Thank you, look forward to hearing from you!
