About

I love to eat.
I have done some pretty difficult challenges and some competitions.
I have a big family and a busy work schedule, which keeps me from doing much of this, but I love to share what I find out about and would enjoy taking on some challenges with other eaters if they’re in the neighborhood.

You have to beat the current record of burgers eaten.
I think it was 10 that I had to eat.
I wanted to try as many as possible, but they never did give me the one with peanut buttter.
That was kind of disappointing.
I think this was in June 2018 that I did this.

Alejandro’s Godzilla Burrito challenge.
It’s a 5 pound burrito.
But it’s more like a plate of food with tortillas draped over it and tucked in on the sides.
I’ve done it a couple of times. But I couldn’t tell you a date.
There’s 3 locations in the Roanoke/Salem area.
And there’s also a 3 pound burrito challenge.

I’ve done the Highway 55 challenge a few times.
The closest one to me is in Blacksburg, VA
It’s been a few years since the last time I’ve done it. And a few years in between.

there used to be a place up north of The Homestead Resort called Jason’s Pizza.
I doubt they’re still in business.
But they had a 5 pound stromboli challenge.
As far as I know, I was the only one to ever beat it.
But that’s got to be close to 15 years ago now.

Contests

Contests Participated In

In 2007 I travelled all the way to Flowood, MS to compete in a hamburger eating competition.
It was hosted by Backyard Burgers. I won and got to proceed further in the competition. I think that was in Memphis, TN.
Good times.

Stewart’s in Alderson, WV does a hotdog eating competition every year on the 4th of July.
I’ve competed in that a couple times.
But usually I’m stuck working the holiday.
I won first place the first time I did it.
I got beat the other time. (2nd place).

I did a hotdog eating competition somewhere in Richmond once.
I had practiced a lot.
My goal was to be recorded for being able to put down 30 hotdogs in a 10 minute competition.
I made the mistake of allowing others to be aware of my intentions.
So the competition was reduced to 5 minutes. And it was more of me putting on a show for the rest of the competitors.

In 2019 a friend of mine gave me a lead on a local competition.
It was for the Lynchburg Hillcats. (Baseball team).
They had a hotdog eating competition for the 4th of July
I submitted my name, got accepted, and got off work in time to make this my dinner.
I won first place, being rewarded with some sweet t-shirts and a certificate declaring me the reigning champion.
I don’t believe they did another competition in 2020. (Not likely).
So as far as I know, I’m still the current champ. (March 2021).
