Spicy Food Challenge Description and Prizes
– A family restaurant & take away since 1986, The Lantern Chinese Restaurant is famed for its signature dish, Chicken Dry Hot and Spicy. Customers from all corners of Connacht and even Ireland travel miles just to order the Lantern’s Chicken Dry Hot & Spicy, which some have aptly dubbed “The Taste of Ballina.”
– Since 2014, The Lantern has offered this Dry Hot & Spicy Chicken Challenge with a 30 minute time limit that is way spicier than their normal heat signature dish.
– There is 1lb of their Dry Hot & Spicy Chicken loaded with numerous spicy Chinese peppers.
– There is 1lb of spicy chicken wings also served dry hot and loaded with Chinese peppers.
– Finally, there is 1lb of fries/chips served dry hot and loaded with many Chinese peppers.
– The toughest part of the challenge is that you cannot drink any liquids at all or use any extra sauces. Continuing to swallow each bite without any water was truly a super tough challenge.
– Winners receive the €23.70 spicy Chinese meal free plus Wall of Fame and €50 if gift certificates to come back and use later.
